History of the Palace

Published in Witamy

It is believed that the first settlement in Baborówko appeared alongside Stare Szamotuły, in the 11th century, and was owned by Szamotulscy family of the Nałęcz coat of arms. Its relic is a 30-metre ringfort, beautifully centered among meadows, with an occupation layer dating back to the 11th century. The early medieval fortress’ location is a great place for a walk. The village, first mentioned in 1421 as Baworowo Minor, belonged to the Baworowscy family.

Dojazd

Published in Contact

Baborówko is situated in the heart of Greater Poland, close to Szamotuły (5km) and within a close proximity of the voivodeship’s capital – Poznań (30 km), with a good connection to Berlin (220 km). Access from Poznań through the voivodeship road 184 to Kąsino, then a right turn to a marked road to Baborówko Palace – a characteristic green sign with a horse and the Palace surely will make getting there easier. Arriving from Poznań please do not turn in Pamiątkowo, despite the sign for Baborówko – this road is far more complicated.

Access from Piła/Oborniki – voivodeship road 187 to Szamotuły, then take a left turn at the second traffic lights into Lipowa street and drive 4 kilometres straight to Baborówko.

Access from Pniewy – voivodeship road 187 to Szamotuły, in the direction of Poznań, then 4 kilometres until Kąsinowo, a left turn to a marked road to Baborówko Palace.
